Islamabad, The Prime Minister’s Youth Programme has appointed Olympian Khawaja Junaid as the Focal Person on Sports, a move aimed at boosting sports engagement and nurturing young athletic talent across Pakistan.

According to Press Information Department, the announcement was made by Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, who emphasized the government’s dedication to enhancing sports programs to benefit the youth. Khawaja Junaid, celebrated for his contributions to sports both as an Olympian and a mentor, is expected to lead efforts to elevate the country’s sports culture, promoting health, discipline, and excellence among young athletes. Junaid expressed his readiness to drive the national sports agenda forward, focusing on broadening youth participation and cultivating a robust sporting environment.
