Srinagar: Chief Minister of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, has renewed his call for the restoration of statehood to the region, emphasizing the importance of fulfilling promises made to its residents.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Abdullah, while speaking to journalists, underscored the necessity of reinstating Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood. He pointed out that both the Indian Prime Minister and the Home Minister have committed to this restoration and urged that it should be carried out without further delay.
Abdullah also highlighted concerns over what he described as systematic attempts to target mosques in India, labeling such actions as unacceptable. He stressed that the Constitution provides the right to live freely for all, irrespective of religious affiliation, and called for the maintenance of this foundational principle of secularism.
