Srinagar: Opposition leaders in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) have vehemently criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its election strategies and promises, which they describe as misleading and harmful to the region’s interests.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Taranjit Singh Tony, the General Secretary of the IIOJK Congress chapter, lambasted the BJP for what he sees as recurrent deceptive tactics aimed at voters. “The BJP has arrived in J and K with 25 new ‘jumlas’ to deceive the public once again,” he stated, highlighting a pattern of unfulfilled promises that emerge every election cycle.
Former Srinagar Mayor Junaid Azim Mattu expressed his resolve to oppose the BJP’s policies, which he characterized as anti-Muslim, vowing to continue his resistance. Similarly, former IIOJK Minister Yogesh Sawhney delivered a stern rebuke of the BJP’s governance in Jammu, particularly criticizing the revocation of Statehood and accusing the party of prioritizing extortion over development.
These leaders’ statements underscore a deep-seated dissatisfaction with the BJP among certain segments of IIOJK’s political landscape, setting the stage for contentious interactions as the political environment remains charged with accusations and discontent.
