Pakistan and Azerbaijan Pledge Enhanced Cooperation in IT and Telecom

Islamabad, In a notable advancement for bilateral relations, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, Mr. Khazar Farhadov, met with Ms. Shaza Fatima, the Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication, to discuss mutual interests in the IT and Telecommunications sectors. This meeting signifies a commitment to deepen cooperation between the two nations, particularly in technological fields.

According to Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, the discussions were centered on the enhancement of collaboration in the IT and telecom sectors. Ambassador Farhadov congratulated Minister Fatima on her assumption of office and acknowledged the foundation of brotherly relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, expressing a shared desire to solidify these ties through tangible collaboration in IT and Telecom.

Minister Fatima proposed several initiatives aimed at bolstering the partnership, including the launch of a youth exchange program and fostering the exchange of startups between the two countries, which she believes will significantly benefit bilateral relations. She emphasized the importance of initiating a joint IT training program for the youth, highlighting Pakistan’s attractive environment for foreign direct investment in the IT and Telecom sector. Minister Fatima assured Azerbaijan of Pakistan’s full cooperation in these endeavors, pointing to the substantial potential for growth in this area.

On his part, Ambassador Farhadov commended the progress in Pakistan’s IT and Telecom sector and expressed Azerbaijan’s keen interest in further enhancing ties within the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) field. The meeting marks a pivotal step towards closer collaboration between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, with both parties expressing optimism about the future of their technological cooperation.
