Pakistan and Germany Enhance Climate Resilience Partnership

Islamabad, In a significant move to bolster climate resilience, Sebastian Paust, Head of Development Cooperation at the German Embassy, met with Romina Khurshid Alam, the Prime Minister’s Coordinator on Climate Change, to discuss collaborative efforts on environmental sustainability.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meeting highlighted mutual concerns about the climate risks facing Pakistan and explored potential areas for cooperation. Paust expressed Germany’s readiness to support Pakistan in combating environmental and climate challenges. Alam outlined several priority areas for this collaboration, including climate-resilient building, e-waste management, climate tourism, climate sports, and integrating women into climate risk management.

Alam appreciated the German delegation’s willingness to assist Pakistan and reaffirmed her commitment to advancing initiatives that align with the sustainable development goals, especially those related to climate change, education, health, environment, and disaster risk management.
