Pakistan and Japan Enhance Educational Exchange with $2.1 Million HRD Scholarship Agreement

Islamabad, In a significant boost to educational cooperation, Pakistan and Japan have formalized a $2.1 million agreement to support the Human Resource Development Scholarship Program 2024. This initiative aims to foster the capabilities of young civil servants in Pakistan by enabling advanced studies in Japan.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the agreement was signed in Islamabad by Kazim Niaz, Secretary of Economic Affairs, and Wada Mitsuhiro, the Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan. The grant will sponsor seventeen scholarships for Master’s degree programs and one for a PhD/Doctorate program at prestigious Japanese universities. This program is designed to enhance the professional skills of young Federal Civil Service and Ex-Cadre officers, playing a pivotal role in Pakistan’s socio-economic development.

This educational initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen bilateral relations and promote mutual understanding between Pakistan and Japan, reinforcing the strategic cooperation in various sectors beyond education.
