Lahore, A special meeting was held at Punjab House Murree under the chairmanship of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Muslim League-N President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, in which a principled decision was taken to restore the ancient and historical buildings of Murree to their original condition. It was considered to establish Murree Street on the model of the world’s best street in Murree. In the meeting, it was agreed to run the latest smart tram and it was directed to present the plan in 15 days.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the meeting ordered to develop a new design which will have a capacity of more than 1500 vehicles. From the parking plaza, tourists will be able to reach Murree on a modern tram. In the meeting, a period of 15 days has been fixed for the installation of digital counting cameras at the entrances of Murree. The meeting approved the Murree traffic management plan while resuming Murree cable car service after repairs, subject to a fitness certificate.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed the early completion of Samli TB Sanitarium Upgradation Project. Best toilets on motorway model will be built at various places including Mall Road for tourists. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed to make special toilets and kids rest areas for special people and ordered to establish a wheelchair center for special people and senior citizens on Mall Road. In the meeting, the suggestions of an entertainment park and glamping pod village were considered. It was informed in the briefing that the construction and expansion of twelve roads of Murree has been completed more than 90%.
The existing system and water supply scheme from Jhelum river is being brought for the supply of clean water in Murree and surrounding areas. The meeting was briefed about the operation against encroachments and illegal constructions. In the meeting, in-principle approval was given for the financial assistance of the injured personnel during the campaign to end the encroachments. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that the campaign to end encroachments will continue, there will be no compromise.
President Muslim League-N Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said that amendments should be made in the laws that cause delay in public welfare projects. He added that the motorway built by the Korean company has not been damaged for ten years, but the motorway was destroyed in the past. Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said that those who destroy national assets should be held accountable. In the meeting, a briefing was given on District Murree Development Projects and Master Plan. Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Provincial Minister of Communications Soheb Ahmed Bharat, Special Assistant Rashid Nasrullah, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Secretary C and W Sohail Ashraf, Commissioner Amir Khattak, Deputy Commissioner Zaheer Shirazi, RPO and other officials were present.
