Islamabad, The Speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, has articulated a strong commitment to enriching the country’s relationship with Kazakhstan, emphasizing the desire for closer people-to-people contacts, solid parliamentary links, expanded economic engagement, and enhanced regional connectivity. These comments were made during a meeting with Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Mr. Yerzhan Kistafin, at the Parliament House.
According to National Assembly of Pakistan, Speaker Sadiq and Ambassador Kistafin engaged in discussions that reaffirmed both nations’ mutual perspectives on a variety of regional and global matters. The Speaker proposed that the strengthening of parliamentary cooperation would serve as a keystone in fostering closer ties between the two countries.
Further deepening this bilateral relationship, Speaker Sadiq underscored the potential of invigorating the Pak-Kazakhstan Parliamentary Friendship Group, advocating for more robust interactions and high-level visits between the legislatures. He also suggested that fostering stronger connections between the business communities could unlock new economic opportunities in sectors such as oil exploration, energy, and agriculture.
Ambassador Kistafin, expressing Kazakhstan’s respect for its association with Pakistan, conveyed congratulations to Speaker Sadiq on his re-election. He affirmed Kazakhstan’s eagerness to reinforce its friendship and cooperate comprehensively, highlighting the importance of parliamentary cooperation as a focal area.
