Pakistan and Kuwait Enhance Industrial and Engineering Cooperation with New MoUs

Islamabad, Pakistan and Kuwait have strengthened their bilateral relationship by signing memorandums of understanding (MoUs) in the fields of industrial cooperation and engineering. These agreements were signed during the 5th Joint Ministerial Commission meeting between the two nations, aiming to enhance collaboration in various sectors.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the MoUs cover areas including pharmaceuticals, engineering, and automotive sectors. Federal Minister for Investment Board, Privatization and Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, who led a high-level Pakistani delegation, announced several initiatives to boost economic ties. These include the appointment of a Commercial Counsellor in Kuwait and the introduction of a ‘Visa on Arrival’ program for GCC member countries in Pakistan.

Minister Khan also proposed opportunities for Kuwait to engage Pakistani veterinary staff, doctors, nurses, and other workforce, expressing hope for more relaxed visa conditions for Pakistanis in Kuwait. He emphasized the potential for a long-term economic partnership, highlighting investment opportunities in IT, tourism, minerals, agriculture, food, textile, and energy sectors.

In addition to the MoUs, the Pakistani delegation engaged in talks with the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce about potential joint ventures and held a consultative meeting with Kuwait’s renowned Livestock Organization ‘Al Muashi.’ Both sides agreed to promote the export of poultry and other dairy products.

Earlier discussions between Minister Khan and Kuwait’s Minister for Electricity, Water, and Energy, Dr. Mahmoud Abdulaziz Muhammad Busheri, focused on forming joint working groups under the Special Investment Facilitation Council to tackle energy challenges faced by both countries.
