Pakistan and Netherlands to Boost Cooperation in Multiple Sectors

Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with Dutch Ambassador Henny de Vries to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in combating human trafficking and supporting Afghan refugees.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Naqvi emphasized the importance of strengthening Pakistan’s relations with the Netherlands across various sectors, with a special focus on curbing human smuggling, which he described as a significant criminal enterprise. The discussion also covered the upcoming visit of a Dutch delegation to Pakistan, aimed at reinforcing these cooperative efforts.

Both parties expressed a commitment to furthering ties, including in the realm of cricket, reflecting the broader scope of their diplomatic engagement. Ambassador de Vries congratulated Minister Naqvi on his recent appointment as President of the Asian Cricket Council, highlighting the role of sports in enhancing diplomatic relations. The meeting also touched on the long-term presence of Afghan refugees in Pakistan, with both sides agreeing to deepen cooperation for their welfare.
