Islamabad: In a landmark move to bolster the information technology sector, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a record budget allocation, underscoring the government’s commitment to promoting IT and digital media in Pakistan.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the announcement came during a meeting with a delegation from Meta, led by Vice President for Asia Pacific Simon Milner, which took place in Islamabad on Tuesday. The Prime Minister instructed the relevant authorities to address all operational issues faced by Meta in Pakistan, highlighting the strategic importance of leveraging Meta’s expertise in information technology and artificial intelligence to enhance the country’s IT capabilities. The Meta delegation also shared insights into their services across Pakistan and the Asia Pacific region.
