Pakistan and Somalia Demand Immediate Ceasefire in Gaza

Islamabad, In a recent meeting held on the margins of the 15th OIC Islamic Summit in Banjul, Pakistan and Somalia jointly called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and stressed the need for unimpeded humanitarian aid to the region. This stance was articulated by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and his Somali counterpart, Deputy Prime Minister Salah Jama.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, both leaders expressed their solidarity with the people of Palestine and emphasized the critical nature of the humanitarian situation in Gaza. The meeting also served as a platform for both nations to reaffirm their strong bilateral relations, with discussions on enhancing trade, economic cooperation, and cultural exchanges.

Further, Dar and Jama reviewed their cooperation on multilateral platforms such as the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and exchanged views on various regional and global issues, particularly those affecting the Middle East.
