Pakistan and Tajikistan Commit to Boosting Trade and Investment Cooperation

Islamabad: Pakistan and Tajikistan have reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of trade and investment. This pledge was made during the visit of Tajikistan’s Ambassador, Yusuf Sharifzoda, to the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI).

According to Radio Pakistan, the Ambassador’s visit aimed to congratulate Sardar Tahir Mehmood on his unopposed election as President of the Chamber. During the visit, Ambassador Sharifzoda emphasized Pakistan’s potential as a land of opportunities, citing the intelligence and hospitality of its people. He highlighted Tajikistan’s economic, trade, and tourism potential and extended an invitation to the ICCI President and members to attend the forthcoming Dushanbe International Investment Forum-2025 next month. The Ambassador noted the vast opportunities for medical equipment, leather products, pharmaceuticals, and skilled Pakistani workers, particularly in handicrafts, in Tajikistan.

ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mehmood welcomed the Ambassador and expressed optimism that bilateral cooperation between the two countries would be further promoted with the completion of CASA-1000. He reiterated ICCI’s commitment to strengthening chamber-to-chamber relations through B2B networking with friendly nations, with a special emphasis on Tajikistan.
