Pakistan and Tajikistan Prime Ministers Bolster Bilateral Relations in Islamabad

Islamabad: Today, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan met with his Tajik counterpart, Qohir Rasulzoda, on the sidelines of the SCO Council of Heads of Government Meeting, reaffirming the strong ties and discussing enhancements in trade, investment, energy, and regional connectivity.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meeting underscored the strong, brotherly relations between the two nations, with Prime Minister Sharif expressing appreciation for Tajikistan’s constructive role in the SCO and recalling his productive visit to Dushanbe in July.

Both leaders agreed on the importance of continuing close collaboration to maximize the benefits of their bilateral relationship. Prime Minister Rasulzoda thanked Pakistan for its hospitality during the SCO meeting and acknowledged the potential for further strengthening ties, notably through enhanced trade facilitated by Pakistan’s approval of sugar exports to Tajikistan.
