Pakistan and Tajikistan Strengthen Ties with New Strategic Partnership

Islamabad: Pakistan and Tajikistan have pledged to enhance their bilateral relations with the signing of the Strategic Partnership Agreement during Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s official visit to Dushanbe. The agreement signifies a major advancement in cooperation across multiple sectors including trade, education, and defense.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the two countries have also signed several Agreements/Memorandums of Understanding in fields such as aviation, education, sports, industrial cooperation, and tourism. These agreements aim to deepen and diversify the ties between the two nations, fostering mutual development and understanding.

During the meetings, both leaders also discussed pressing global and regional issues, including the human rights situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and the ongoing conflict in Gaza. They called for international efforts to address these conflicts and promote peace.

The visit, which underscores the shared history and values between Pakistan and Tajikistan, was marked by significant gestures of diplomacy and mutual respect, including the laying of a floral wreath at the Ismoili Somoni Statue in Dushanbe by Prime Minister Sharif.
