Islamabad: In a significant step towards bolstering economic relations, Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb hosted Turkiye’s Trade Minister, Prof. Dr. Omer Bolat, and his business delegation today. The meeting focused on deepening the longstanding partnership between the two nations with an emphasis on expanding trade and investment opportunities.
According to Press Information Department, Minister Bolat and his delegation were warmly received at the Finance Division, where discussions centered on enhancing bilateral economic cooperation and exploring new avenues for trade and investment. Bolat highlighted Turkiye’s commitment to reinforcing ties under the leaderships of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Erdogan, pinpointing sectors such as services, health, education, and fashion for potential investments.
Senator Aurangzeb, affirming the robust historical and cultural connections between Pakistan and Turkiye, provided insights into Pakistan’s improving economic indicators, such as stable currency metrics and rising foreign exchange reserves. He also detailed ongoing reforms in the taxation and energy sectors and the recent agreement with the International Monetary Fund aimed at ensuring fiscal stability. The meeting also addressed facilitating Turkish investment in Pakistan, with proposals to enhance flight connectivity between the two countries to further economic exchanges.
Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to advancing bilateral relations and increasing trade volumes, with Aurangzeb ensuring regulatory streamlining to ease business operations for international investors, including those from Turkiye.
