Pakistan and Turkiye Pledge to Enhance Economic Ties and Address Middle East Conflict

Istanbul, In a significant bilateral meeting held on the sidelines of the Extraordinary Meeting of the D-8 Council of Foreign Ministers, Pakistan and Turkiye committed to deepening their economic cooperation.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the discussion between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, focused on strengthening economic ties and celebrated the robust relationship between the two nations, rooted in shared cultural and historical bonds. The Turkish Foreign Minister also congratulated Dar on Pakistan’s recent election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.

The meeting also covered global political issues, with both sides expressing a unified stance on the need for international efforts to halt Israeli actions in Palestine and advocating for a two-state solution to ensure lasting peace in the Middle East. Dar commended Turkiye for its leadership in convening the council meeting to address the ongoing crisis in Gaza.
