Islamabad, Pakistan and Uzbekistan have set sights on enhancing their economic partnership by strengthening bilateral trade.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, a meeting in Islamabad between the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, Aybek Arif Usmanov, and Pakistan’s Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, resulted in a mutual commitment to advance trade relations. The dialogue underscored the enduring friendly ties and highlighted the potential of closer economic cooperation through business-to-business (B2B) and government-to-government (G2G) agreements.
Ambassador Usmanov shared that Uzbekistan’s foreign minister and deputy trade secretary would soon visit Pakistan to further these B2B and G2G discussions, signaling a proactive approach to deepen trade relations. Opportunities in agriculture, pharmaceuticals, building materials, textiles, and leather were particularly noted for their growth potential.
Minister Jam Kamal Khan echoed these sentiments, advocating for better connectivity and the development of new trade corridors as pivotal to increasing trade volume between the nations.
The talks between the two countries signify an important step towards exploiting the full spectrum of economic possibilities that lie ahead, promising a future of shared prosperity and stronger bilateral ties.
