Pakistan Armed Forces Denounce May 9 Violence, Vow to Uphold National Unity

Islamabad, The Armed Forces of Pakistan, along with the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) and Service Chiefs, issued a strong condemnation of the violent acts committed on May 9, 2023, which they described as one of the darkest days in the nation’s history. The statement highlighted the politically motivated attacks on state institutions and national symbols, emphasizing the forces’ commitment to maintaining national sovereignty and integrity.

According to Inter Services Public Relations, the military leadership praised the restraint shown by the Armed Forces during the attacks, thwarting the efforts of those who sought to destabilize the country and incite confrontation between the people and the military.
