Pakistan Army Condemns Terrorism and Pledges Continued Support for Kashmir at Corps Commanders’ Conference

Rawalpindi, General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, chaired the 264th Corps Commanders’ Conference at the General Headquarters, where top military leaders reaffirmed their commitment to national security and stability, condemned regional terrorism, and pledged continued support for Kashmir.

According to Inter Services Public Relations, the forum paid tribute to the sacrifices made by members of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and citizens who have died in the pursuit of peace and stability in Pakistan. The COAS commended the efforts of the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies in thwarting terrorist attacks and neutralizing key terrorist figures during ongoing counterterrorism operations. He emphasized the need for vigilance to prevent any resurgence of terrorist activities.

The conference also addressed the recent terrorist attack against Chinese nationals in Besham and the killings in Balochistan, linking these events to terrorist groups operating from Afghanistan that threaten regional security and Pakistan’s economic interests, particularly those related to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Further discussions at the conference centered on the situation in Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), with commanders reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to providing political, diplomatic, and moral support to the Kashmiri people. Additionally, the forum expressed solidarity with Palestine, condemning the human rights violations occurring in Gaza.

The commanders also voiced concerns over escalating tensions in the Middle East and the potential for a broader regional conflict. They criticized what they perceive as a malicious propaganda campaign against Pakistan’s armed forces, vowing to counter such efforts legally and ensure national unity.

The conference concluded with resolutions to support the government in achieving sustainable socioeconomic growth and to assist in addressing issues like smuggling, hoarding, and electricity theft, as well as the safe repatriation of illegal foreigners. COAS Munir directed commanders to maintain the highest standards of readiness and professionalism within their ranks.
