Pakistan Army Conducts Rescue Operations in Rain-Hit Swat, Dir, and Chitral

Islamabad, The Pakistan Army is actively conducting rescue operations in the rain-affected regions of Swat, Dir, and Chitral, providing vital support to both residents and tourists impacted by the severe weather conditions.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the army, in coordination with district authorities and rescue agencies, has successfully reopened multiple roads that were previously closed due to landslides. Specifically, the vital route connecting Chitral to Peshawar has been cleared of debris with the use of heavy machinery, allowing transportation to resume.

Additionally, the Frontier Works Organization has undertaken a successful operation to rescue tourist families trapped near the Khunjerab Pass following an avalanche that ensnared more than 60 vehicles. Over 180 families received immediate medical attention from the Pakistan Army’s medical teams to address health issues exacerbated by the freezing conditions.
