Pakistan Business Forum Urges Adoption of Molten Salt Solar Plants to Tackle Balochistan Power Woes

Quetta: The Pakistan Business Forum (PBF) Balochistan has proposed a strategic energy solution to mitigate the severe power crisis plaguing the province. Maqbool Alam Noori, Secretary General of PBF Balochistan, called on the government to consider the establishment of solar power plants utilizing molten salt technology.

In a discussion with the Chaman Chamber of Commerce, Noori described the current energy challenges as detrimental to both industrial and residential sectors in the region. He emphasized that the ongoing power outages are obstructing economic development and causing significant difficulties for the general populace.

Noori argued that Balochistan’s abundant solar resources could be harnessed effectively by investing in solar power plants with molten salt technology. This system would not only generate electricity but also store solar heat, ensuring round-the-clock power availability.

He stressed the importance of this initiative, suggesting it could transform the province by providing a stable power supply, attracting investment, and creating job opportunities. Moreover, it would ensure a consistent electricity supply for households, enhancing the quality of life for residents.

The PBF views this sustainable energy solution as pivotal to Balochistan’s economic growth and prosperity. Noori urged the government to prioritize this approach and explore public-private partnerships to accelerate the implementation of these projects.
