Pakistan Business Leader Warns of Afghanistan’s Trade Dependency Amid Rising Tensions

Karachi: In response to recent hostilities from Afghanistan, the United Business Group has declared its strong backing for the Pakistan Armed Forces. Zubair Tufail, President of UBG, issued a statement condemning Afghanistan’s actions and accused India of leveraging Afghan territory to pursue an agenda against Pakistan.

Tufail asserted that India plays a significant role in regional terrorism, alleging its involvement in destabilizing efforts through Afghan soil. He claimed that terrorist factions, referred to as the ‘Khawarij,’ have successfully incited discord between the two neighboring Muslim countries.

The UBG President emphasized the desire for peaceful bilateral trade from traders in both nations, highlighting the Afghan public’s general opposition to conflict with Pakistan. Tufail noted awareness among Afghans about India’s alleged role in terrorism.

Tufail warned against the use of Afghan territory for terrorist operations, stating Pakistan’s resolve to support its armed forces in countering cross-border terrorism. He underlined Afghanistan’s dependence on trade through Pakistan, suggesting that a closure of trade routes would severely impact Afghanistan within four days.

He called on the Afghan Taliban government to take decisive action against terrorist groups within its borders, explicitly naming Khawarij militants, “Fitna al-Hindustan,” ISKP, and Daesh.

Tufail concluded by affirming Pakistan’s commitment to protecting its national interests and regional security.
