Pakistan Condemns Assassination of Hamas Leader Ismail Haniyeh as Terrorism

Islamabad: Pakistan has officially condemned the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, Chief of the Hamas Political Bureau, which occurred in Tehran, labeling the act as a form of terrorism that destabilizes regional peace.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch expressed Pakistan’s firm opposition to terrorism in all its forms, including extrajudicial and extraterritorial killings, during a public statement. She highlighted the assassination’s particularly shocking timing, coinciding with Iran’s presidential inauguration, an event attended by numerous international figures, including Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar. Baloch also voiced concern over increasing Israeli actions in the region, describing them as dangerous escalations that jeopardize ongoing peace efforts.
