Pakistan Fertilizers See Sharp Rise in Urea Sales for November 2025

Karachi: Pakistan’s urea sales witnessed a substantial increase in November 2025, with sales reaching 817,000 tons, marking a 133% rise from the previous month and a 25% increase from the same period last year. This growth is attributed to heightened agricultural activity and discounts offered by select manufacturers.

Engro Fertilizers (EFERT) and Fauji Fertilizer Company (FFC) implemented significant discounts to boost sales. EFERT maintained a discount range of Rs300-350 per bag, while FFC offered an average discount of Rs80 per bag.

Despite the strong performance in November, the overall urea offtake for the first eleven months of 2025 showed a slight decline of 4% year-on-year, totaling 5.37 million tons compared to 5.58 million tons in the same period of 2024.

The closing inventory of urea in November 2025 is expected to be around 1.05 million tons, down from 1.42 million tons in October 2025. EFERT holds the highest inventory at 520,000 tons, followed by FATIMA at 291,000 tons, and FFC at 262,000 tons.

Among the companies, FFC recorded a significant 133% month-on-month increase in urea sales, reaching 387,000 tons in November 2025. EFERT posted sales of 269,000 tons, up 121% month-on-month, while FATIMA recorded sales of 125,000 tons, an increase of 190% year-on-year.

In contrast, total DAP sales for November 2025 slightly decreased by 1% month-on-month and 14% year-on-year, totaling approximately 216,000 tons. For the first eleven months of 2025, DAP offtake is expected to reach 1.2 million tons, marking a 17% year-on-year decline.

FFC and EFERT recorded DAP sales of 131,000 tons and 40,000 tons, respectively, in November 2025. The closing inventory of DAP is expected to be around 215,000 tons in November 2025, compared to 408,000 tons in October 2025 and 307,000 tons in November 2024.

Looking forward, urea sales are anticipated to remain strong in December 2025 due to seasonal factors, with inventory levels expected to be lower than the initial estimates of 1.2 million tons.
