Pakistan Government Amplifies Support for Hockey Ahead of Azlan Shah Cup Final

Islamabad, As Pakistan’s national hockey team prepares for the final of the Azlan Shah Hockey Cup in Malaysia, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has announced significant government efforts to promote the sport.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a video link address to the team, Minister Tarar revealed that a new campaign would be launched across print and electronic media today to celebrate the team’s performance. He highlighted the government’s commitment to revitalizing hockey, Pakistan’s national game, which includes broadcasting the final match live nationwide.

The Minister also conveyed the nation’s support for the team, expressing collective hopes for their victory and announcing that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif plans to host the team upon their return to address further development of the sport. Rana Mashood Ahmed, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, who joined the Minister during the call, commended the team for reaching the final for the first time in thirteen years and underscored the government’s support for the sport’s development.
