Pakistan, Libya Underscore Importance of Strengthening Bilateral Defence Ties

Rawalpindi: Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, met with Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, in Rawalpindi today. The meeting focused on mutual interests, regional security dynamics, and opportunities for enhanced military collaboration between the two nations.

According to Radio Pakistan, both leaders emphasized the significance of reinforcing bilateral defence relations and expanding cooperation in professional military training and security. Field Marshal Munir reiterated the Pakistan Army’s dedication to fostering peace, stability, and constructive engagement with friendly nations.

Lieutenant General Haftar expressed his admiration for the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their vital role in promoting regional peace and security. His visit to the General Headquarters (GHQ) began with a Guard of Honour presented by a tri-services contingent, highlighting the ceremonial respect accorded to the visiting dignitary.
