Pakistan Marks ‘Youm-e-Istehsal’ to Show Solidarity with Kashmir

Islamabad: Today marks the fifth anniversary of the Indian government’s actions on August 5, 2019, in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), observed across Pakistan as ‘Youm-e-Istehsal’ (Day of Exploitation). The nation and its leaders express strong support for the Kashmiri cause, emphasizing Pakistan’s commitment to advocating for their rights on international platforms.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the President, the Prime Minister, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan have issued special messages reiterating the country’s unwavering diplomatic, political, and moral support for the Kashmir cause. The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister have written to the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation leadership, highlighting the severe impacts of India’s actions and advocating for the enforcement of UN Security Council resolutions that support the self-determination of the Kashmiri people.

In preparation for ‘Youm-e-Istehsal’, the Foreign Secretary briefed Islamabad-based diplomatic missions on August 2, 2024, analyzing the IIOJK situation from the perspectives of international law, peace, security, and human rights. Furthermore, a special ‘Walk’ was organized in Islamabad this morning to express solidarity with the oppressed people of IIOJK, concluding at the Parliament Building with key government figures, including the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, as guests of honor.

Nationwide activities and global events through Pakistan’s diplomatic missions are being held to raise awareness about the ongoing plight of the Kashmiri people, engaging both Pakistani and Kashmiri diasporas in these efforts.
