Pakistan Rejects Indian Prime Minister’s Remarks, Asserts Defense Capabilities

Islamabad: Pakistan has formally dismissed the recent statements by the Indian Prime Minister as belligerent, emphasizing its capability and readiness to defend its sovereignty. The remarks, made in Drass, Ladakh, were criticized by Pakistan’s Foreign Office for undermining regional peace and complicating the resolution of longstanding disputes, notably the issue of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Foreign Office in its statement highlighted that the bravado and jingoistic tone of the Indian leaders do not distract from India’s aggressive policies in Kashmir. These policies aim to suppress the Kashmiri people’s movement for their fundamental rights and freedoms, including their right to self-determination. The statement also accused India of orchestrating targeted assassinations and engaging in subversive activities across borders.

Pakistan asserts its robust stance against any acts of aggression, referencing its response to what it termed a reckless incursion by India in February 2019. While ready to counter any aggressive moves, Pakistan reaffirms its commitment to fostering peace and stability in the region, distancing itself from the path of conflict and confrontation.
