Pakistan Seeks Afghan Cooperation in Besham Terror Attack Investigation

Kabul, On a directive from the Prime Minister, Pakistan’s Secretary of Interior, Muhammad Khurram Agha, visited Kabul on May 30, 2024, for high-level talks with Afghanistan’s Interim Deputy Minister for Interior, Muhammad Nabi Omari, focusing on the March 26 terror attack in Besham.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the meeting, Secretary Agha presented the findings of Pakistan’s investigation into the Besham attack and requested Afghanistan’s assistance in capturing those responsible. The Afghan officials assured their commitment to preventing their territory from being used for terrorist activities against Pakistan or any other nation. They agreed to review Pakistan’s investigation results and expressed a determination to collaboratively advance the investigation to a definitive conclusion. Both parties agreed to continue their cooperation to tackle the regional threat posed by terrorism and to address Pakistan’s security concerns comprehensively.
