Pakistan to Boost Trade and Investment Ties with Singapore

Karachi, President Asif Ali Zardari has called for the promotion of trade and business linkages between Pakistan and Singapore, highlighting the potential for increased bilateral cooperation in sectors like food export, manpower, information technology, and agriculture. The directive was given during a meeting with Pakistan’s newly-appointed High Commissioner to Singapore, Ms. Rabia Shafiq, underscoring the significance of harnessing Pakistan’s investment-friendly policies to foster economic growth.

According to Press Information Department, President Zardari emphasized the importance of exporting Pakistani food and agricultural products to Singapore. He pointed out that Pakistan has the capacity to be a reliable supplier of processed food items such as poultry, meat, and seafood to the Singaporean market. Additionally, the President highlighted the potential for exporting Pakistani manpower to Singapore, as well as enhancing bilateral cooperation in information technology and agriculture.

The meeting also served as an occasion for the President to congratulate Ms. Rabia Shafiq on her appointment, expressing his hopes for her successful and productive tenure in strengthening Pakistan-Singapore relations.
