Pakistan and Italy Seek to Enhance Defence Collaboration and Stability in the Region

Karachi, In a significant diplomatic engagement, the Italian Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Marilina Armellin, met with Pakistan’s Minister for Defence and Defence Production, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, to discuss strengthening defence ties between the two countries. The meeting focused on enhancing military training exchange, exploring joint defence production, and regional security, particularly along the Pak-Afghan border.

According to Press Information Department, the Federal Minister emphasized the value Pakistan places on its relationship with Italy and expressed a desire to advance defence collaboration. Highlighting the mutual benefits of military training exchange, Asif pointed out the expertise of the Italian Armed Forces within NATO and the experience of Pakistan Armed Forces in counter-terrorism operations.

The discussion also covered potential cooperation in joint defence production, aiming to leverage the strengths of both nations to foster technological and military advancements. Additionally, the security dynamics along the Pak-Afghan border and Pakistan’s role in promoting regional peace and stability were topics of significance during the meeting.
