Pakistan, Turkey, and Azerbaijan Advocate Dialogue for Conflict Resolution at SCO Summit

Astana: In a significant trilateral summit held on the sidelines of the 24th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, leaders from Pakistan, Turkey, and Azerbaijan reaffirmed their commitment to dialogue as the primary means for resolving conflicts. The summit, attended by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, emphasized respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity in conflict resolution efforts.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the joint statement released after the summit highlighted discussions on deepening ties between the three nations and addressing pressing regional and global issues, including the situations in Gaza, Cyprus, Kashmir, and the rise of Islamophobia. The leaders underscored the importance of their trilateral cooperation process, which has previously convened at various governmental levels and is now set to continue at the level of state leaders.

The statement detailed the consensus on leveraging this trilateral partnership to not only enhance the prosperity of their peoples but also to contribute significantly to regional and global peace and stability. The leaders also agreed on the critical role of their countries in combating transnational threats, particularly terrorism, through joint efforts.

Future meetings of the trilateral cooperation process are scheduled to take place in Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Pakistan, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties and to ensure a coordinated approach to shared challenges.
