Islamabad: Pakistan and Turkiye have reiterated their commitment to enhancing cooperation for peace, stability, and prosperity in the Muslim world and beyond. This commitment was conveyed during a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the sidelines of the SCO Council of Heads of State in Tianjin, China.
According to Radio Pakistan, the leaders reviewed the current state of Pakistan-Turkiye relations and expressed satisfaction with the growing momentum in bilateral ties. They appreciated the steady increase in high-level exchanges and cooperation across various sectors, including political, economic, defense, and security domains.
The Turkish President extended his condolences for the loss of lives and property due to the ongoing floods in Pakistan. He expressed Turkiye’s solidarity with Pakistan, affirming that the Government and people of Turkiye stand with Pakistan during this challenging time.
Both sides also discussed key regional and international developments, voicing concern over the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza. They emphasized their commitment to advocating for the rights of the Palestinian people and condemning ongoing Israeli actions through international platforms.
