Pakistan, US Commit to Strengthen Security and Law Enforcement Ties

Islamabad: Pakistan and the United States have formally agreed to bolster cooperation in key security areas such as anti-terrorism, anti-narcotics, and broader law enforcement. This understanding was reached during a meeting between Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and the US Ambassador to Pakistan, Donald Blome. The discussions have set the stage for a joint law enforcement dialogue scheduled for October, signaling a deepening of ties between the two nations.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Interior Minister emphasized the significance of US support in enhancing the capabilities of Pakistani law enforcement agencies. Further collaboration between the Islamabad Police and the New York Police Department was discussed, with plans for a delegation from Islamabad to visit New York soon. This visit aims to facilitate training and knowledge exchange, underscoring a mutual commitment to security and law enforcement advancements.
