Pakistan Voices Frustration at UN Security Council’s Inaction on Palestine and Kashmir

Islamabad: Pakistan has publicly expressed disappointment with the UN Security Council’s inability to enforce its resolutions concerning the long-standing issues of Palestine and Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a debate at the UNSC in New York, Pakistan’s Acting Permanent Representative Usman Jadoon called for the UN Secretary-General to prepare an annual review of situations where violations of the UN Charter’s principles and Council resolutions occur. Jadoon emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to multilateral cooperation as essential for addressing complex global challenges, including the unresolved conflicts in Palestine and Jammu and Kashmir.

The envoy stressed the importance of a world founded on consistent adherence to the UN Charter’s principles, notably the self-determination of peoples and the respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity of states. He highlighted that strict observance of these principles is crucial amid current and ongoing global conflicts.
