Pakistani Information Minister Calls for Global Action Against Fake News

Islamabad, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has called for international cooperation to combat the proliferation of fake news and the misuse of social media platforms.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a meeting with a delegation of Bangladeshi journalists in Islamabad, Minister Tarar emphasized the importance of freedom of the press and expression, reaffirming the government’s commitment to protecting journalists’ rights. He highlighted the positive trajectory of the country’s economic indicators and detailed government initiatives aimed at boosting the economy through infrastructure investments and the creation of job opportunities.

The minister also mentioned the establishment of the Special Investment Facilitation Council aimed at attracting and assisting foreign investors. The Bangladeshi journalists underscored the value of such exchanges for enhancing bilateral relations and people-to-people contacts between Bangladesh and Pakistan.
