Islamabad: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, has identified significant opportunities for collaboration between Pakistan and Texas in sectors such as IT, agriculture, textiles, and sports. His remarks came during a three-day tour of Dallas and Houston, where he engaged with local leaders, business figures, and the Pakistani diaspora.

During his visit, he met with Texas Governor Greg Abbott and discussed potential partnerships that could leverage Texas’s robust economic landscape and Pakistan’s strategic position and market of 250 million people.
The ambassador’s visit also included cultural and community engagements. He inaugurated the first-ever Pakistan Literature Festival in Texas, organized by the International Academy of Letters, and participated in a ceremony with Congressman Al Green to send off medical supplies to Pakistan. Sheikh’s interactions with the Ismaili community and his visit to clinics run by the Ibn Sina Foundation underscored the dynamic role of the Pakistani diaspora in fostering stronger ties between the U.S. and Pakistan.
In Dallas, his discussions with Congressman Lance Carter Gooden touched on security, defense cooperation, and broader regional and global issues. Sheikh also engaged with the Pakistan Chamber of Commerce-USA, reaffirming support for Pakistani-American businesses looking to invest in Pakistan, particularly in the IT and agricultural sectors.
