Los Angeles, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Masood Khan, recently engaged with prominent business leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals in Los Angeles to promote greater economic and investment ties between Pakistan and the United States. He emphasized Pakistan’s potential as an emerging tech hub in the region and discussed significant growth opportunities in IT, agriculture, energy, and extractive industries.
According to Press Information Department, Ambassador Khan highlighted the presence of major American corporations in Pakistan and discussed new opportunities for U.S. businesses to expand their investments. During his meetings, including a notable discussion with Maria S. Salinas, President of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, he proposed a trilateral partnership among the U.S., Gulf nations, and Pakistan to maximize investment benefits.
The Ambassador also underlined the strategic importance of Pakistan’s economy, noting the support from international financial institutions and the government’s commitment to economic reforms. He called for a sister city partnership between Los Angeles and Karachi, aiming to strengthen economic ties through industry-specific cooperation.
During his interactions at the Consulate General of Pakistan in Los Angeles and with the Pakistan American Chamber of Commerce, Ambassador Khan reiterated the importance of the Pakistani American community as a bridge in enhancing Pak-U.S. relations. He encouraged the community and U.S. business leaders to visit Pakistan, believing that such visits would foster a positive perception and encourage further investments.
Ambassador Khan concluded his visit with a commitment to continuing dialogue on various fronts including climate change, renewable energy, and technology, all pivotal to fostering a robust bilateral relationship.
