Pakistan’s Ambassador to United Arab Emirates calls on Ruler of Ajman

Dubai, May 12, 2014 (PPI-OT): Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Asif Ali Khan Durrani called on His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Ajman here today.

Ambassador Durrani conveyed the best wishes of the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He extended an invitation to His Highness to visit Pakistan. Ambassador Durrani expressed the hope that bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, which are based on a shared faith and common destiny, would be further strengthened in all fields including cooperation in the field of defence and security.

His Highness Sheikh Humaid welcomed the Ambassador to the UAE. While reciprocating the good wishes of the Pakistani leadership, he expressed the desire of further strengthening the already existing and long standing relations between the two fraternal countries. He invited the Pakistani business community to avail investment opportunities in Ajman.

Ambassador Durrani said that expatriate Pakistanis had made around 23 billion dollars investment in the UAE and over a million expatriate Pakistanis were contributing in the development of UAE. UAE is Pakistan’s largest trading partner within the Gulf Region with US$ 9 billion annual turnover of trade, he added.

He thanked the UAE leadership for providing a conducive working environment to expatriate Pakistanis who feel United Arab Emirates as their second home. Consul General of Pakistan Javed Jalil Khattak and other senior diplomats of Pakistan Embassy and Consulate General also attended the meeting.
