Pakistan’s Formation Commanders Vow to Strengthen National Security

Islamabad, At the 83rd Formation Commanders Conference held in Rawalpindi, chaired by Army Chief General Asim Munir, a unified commitment was voiced to neutralize threats to Pakistan’s security and enhance the nation’s stability with broad-based national support.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the conference addressed concerns over politically motivated digital terrorism, which is seen as an attempt to destabilize state institutions and sow discord among the armed forces and the public. The leaders reaffirmed their resolve to defeat these threats through comprehensive strategies.

The forum also discussed the importance of justice for the perpetrators and facilitators of the events of May 9th, emphasizing that stability in the country hinges on the swift and transparent dispensation of justice and the establishment of the rule of law. Additionally, the commanders pledged continued support for government initiatives aimed at economic growth and the suppression of illegal activities such as smuggling and electricity theft.

Concerns were raised about ongoing cross-border violations from Afghanistan and the use of Afghan soil for terrorist activities targeting Pakistani forces and civilians. The conference also highlighted the sacrifices of the people in the Newly Merged Districts in the fight against terrorism and the need for socio-economic development in Balochistan to prevent the alienation of its youth.

The forum also expressed solidarity with the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination, criticized the treatment of minorities in India, and condemned human rights violations in Gaza, aligning with the International Court of Justice’s decisions regarding operations in the region.
