Islamabad: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in Pakistan has refuted allegations made in an article by “The Diplomat” magazine concerning a recent visit by a high-level Chinese delegation, labeling it as “baseless” and “misleading”.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the contentious article suggested an erroneous connection between the visit of the Chinese officials and terrorist activities within the country. The Ministry clarified that foreign dignitary visits are a routine year-round occurrence and should not be linked to unrelated incidents.
The Ministry further criticized the article for attempting to undermine Pakistan’s longstanding and robust relationship with China. Information and Broadcasting Minister Attaullah Tarar, in a post on his X handle, dismissed the article as a flawed effort to damage bilateral ties. He emphasized that such misleading representations of diplomatic visits do not capture the true sentiments of the Pakistani populace towards China.
The Ministry’s statement and Minister Tarar’s remarks underscore Pakistan’s commitment to preserving and enhancing its diplomatic relationships, particularly with key allies like China, despite attempts to mischaracterize these relations in the media.
