Pakistan’s IT Ministry Advocates for Digital Transformation as Progress Pathway

Islamabad, Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja met with key industry figures, including GSMA Country Lead Saira Faisal and E-commerce Gateway Pakistan’s Group Vice President Umair Nizam, to discuss digital transformation and innovation. These meetings highlighted the government’s focus on leveraging technology to drive national development.

According to Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, the discussions with Saira Faisal centered on GSMA’s operations, upcoming initiatives, and collaboration with the ministry. Minister Shaza Fatima emphasized the significance of digital transformation for Pakistan’s progress and the ongoing digitalization initiatives within the country.

In a separate meeting, Umair Nizam briefed the minister on the 24th ITCN Asia 2024 tech event, indicating the pivotal role of such forums in promoting technology and innovation in Pakistan. These engagements reflect the ministry’s commitment to fostering an environment conducive to digital advancement and the startup ecosystem, highlighting the government’s efforts to promote IT as a cornerstone of economic growth.
