In a significant meeting, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, Minister for Law and Justice, engaged with leaders from the Implementation Minority Rights Forum (IMRF) and the Christian Lawyers Association Pakistan (CLA) to address the implementation of minority rights and enhance the role of the National Commission for Minorities. According to Press Information Department, the delegation, led by IMRF Chairman Samuel Payara and CLA President Advocate Adnan Shamim Bhatti, presented concerns about the Christian Marriage Act of 1872 and the appointment of Christian Marriage Registrars. They also proposed legislative measures for the safety of sanitation workers, following recent Supreme Court rulings, and the establishment of National Minority Culture Awards. Minister Tarar lauded the suggestions from the delegation and assured full cooperation, committing to involve provincial governments in further actions.
