Pakistan’s Prime Minister Expresses Solidarity with Iran in Meeting with Supreme Leader

Islamabad, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with Iran’s Supreme Leader, His Eminence Ayatollah Imam Khamenei, to express condolences for the recent passing of President Ibrahim Raisi and to discuss strengthening bilateral relations. The meeting underscored Pakistan’s commitment to fostering closer ties with Iran and supporting the unity of the Muslim Ummah.

According to Press Information Department, during the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif lauded the late President Raisi as a visionary leader whose recent visit to Pakistan in April 2024 played a pivotal role in enhancing Pakistan-Iran relations. The Prime Minister reflected on President Raisi’s contributions to the Muslim community and his efforts to support the people of Gaza, noting that these actions would leave a lasting legacy. Accompanied by key cabinet members, including Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar and others, Prime Minister Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for Iran during this critical period and emphasized the enduring friendship between the two nations.
