Pakistan’s Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to Convene for Shawwal Moon Sighting

Islamabad, The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is set to meet in Islamabad on Tuesday to observe the Shawwal-ul-Mukarram crescent, marking the end of Ramadan and the beginning of the Eid al-Fitr celebration. Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, Chairman of the Committee, will lead the session that brings together experts and zonal members from across the country.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meeting will feature representatives from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Pakistan Meteorological Department, and The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission, ensuring a comprehensive and scientific approach to the moon sighting. Zonal members from major cities including Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, and Peshawar will participate in the deliberations to confirm the sighting of the moon.

Chairman Maulana Azad has stressed the significance of community participation in this process and encourages citizens to assist in the moon sighting, emphasizing the collective nature of this national event.
