Peshawar Adviser Calls for Inquiry into Judicial Influence Claims

Peshawar, Adviser on Information, Barrister Dr. Saif, has urged an investigation into allegations involving Captain Safdar and Maryam Nawaz regarding audio and video leaks that purportedly show attempts to influence the judiciary. This call for an inquiry stems from a broader concern over the integrity of judicial proceedings in Pakistan, highlighted by historical interactions between political figures and the judiciary.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dr. Saif pointed to the longstanding claims and evidence, such as the call recordings between Justice Qayyum and the Sharif family, advocating for a thorough investigation into these matters. He emphasized the necessity of probing into all instances where individuals have attempted to sway judicial outcomes.

Dr. Saif’s statements reflect growing unease around the revelations from the judiciary, underscoring the need for a transparent and comprehensive inquiry to uphold the sanctity of the judicial system. He reiterated the importance of an independent judiciary as a cornerstone of a democratic society and a prerequisite for national development.
