Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated mountaineers Naila Kiyani and Sameena Baig for scaling the world’s ninth-highest peak of Nanga Parbat.

In a statement, the prime minister said climbers Nailia Kiyani and Sameena Baig are the first Pakistani women who scaled the most dangerous peak of Nanga Parbat. He said both have once again raised the name of their country in the world.

He said Sameena Baig and Naila Kiyani have proved that their courage, determination, and intentions are higher than the highest mountains. They are the representatives of those brave women of Pakistan who second to none in their pursuit of tenacity, ambition and purpose.

Praying for more successes, the prime minister said Sameena Baig, Naila Kiyani and other such daughters of nations should continue to raise the name of Pakistan.

In May 2023, the prime minister conferred Sitara Imtiaz on Naila Kiyani.

After Sameena Baig, Naila Kiyani is the second woman Pakistani mountaineer who scaled Mount Everest.
