PM Shehbaz Affirms Pakistan’s Solidarity with Palestinians

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s staunch support for the Palestinian people and their quest for self-determination during a meeting with the outgoing Palestinian Ambassador, Ahmed Jawad A.A. Rabei.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during the discussion, Prime Minister Shehbaz condemned the recent violence in Gaza, noting the tragic loss of life since October 7, 2023, which includes over 40,000 Palestinian casualties and more than 90,000 injuries. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to supporting a two-state solution for Palestine, aligned with pre-1967 borders and East Jerusalem as its capital, as outlined in UN resolutions. The Palestinian Ambassador expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s consistent support and contributions toward peace efforts in the region. He also thanked the Pakistani government for its humanitarian assistance and for providing scholarships to Palestinian medical students.
