President Zardari Advocates for Stronger Ties with Greece and Acknowledges ADB’s Support

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari today called for an enhancement of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Greece during a farewell meeting with the outgoing Greek Ambassador to Pakistan, Konstantinos Moatsos. The meeting underscored a mutual interest in strengthening diplomatic and economic ties.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, President Zardari also held discussions with Yong Ye, the Country Director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), who briefed him on the bank’s contributions to Pakistan’s socio-economic development. The President expressed his appreciation for the ADB’s support, particularly during recent flood crises, and highlighted significant environmental initiatives undertaken by Pakistan, such as the expansion of mangrove forests.

Additionally, President Zardari commended the ADB’s efforts in advancing Pakistan’s agriculture, irrigation, and education sectors, emphasizing the vital role these sectors play in the nation’s development strategy.
